Intent

The intent for this research is to gain some quick and basic understanding for a certain market, and to provide insights for further design opportunities for another team, who would take over and design an app based on our research. Correspondingly, my team also inherited another team's research to design a peer-to-peer teaching app.

For this 2-week project, our team was qualitatively researching the current tool sharing market. We started with a competitive analysis, looking at other business that have tried to establish tool-sharing facilities. This analysis offered a lot of insight on why certain tool-sharing businesses thrive, and what is a good business model for such services.

We wanted to limit our scope, and look at tool-sharing across tenants, as well as a local tool-sharing library. Our interview efforts were hampered by no-shows, but we were able to gather enough interview data to offer insights for the next team.

Information Synthesis

To consolidate our research findings, we analyzed our interview data and created an ecosystem collection and a stakeholder map. From there, we also used used our interviewees' past experiences to create user journey maps.
